A brief history on DVD:
What is DVD. Digital Video Disk or Digital Versatile Disk are once common names for the format that debuted to the consumer market in early 1997 as a digital format on a media the size of a CD. DVD has an extremely large storage area; In the order of 4 Gigabytes (GB) of information on a single side vs a CD 650 Megabytes. DVD can be formatted with dual layered sides giving an astounding 8 GB of storage on one side, making this the ideal medium for movies and future computer games. DVD offers better than twice the video resolution than VHS as well as multi-channel sound (Dolby digital and DTS); The same sound track you would hear at that expensive movie theater. DVD finally offers the homeowner a format that is very close to the original print film without having to stand in line for tickets, popcorn, or miss that important scene because you had to use the restroom. The age of computer images at a cheap price in your own home has finally arrived. DVD is here to stay.......
The Next Campaign: "Anamorphic
Widescreen" The only way to watch a DVD.
Ask, no DEMAND studios to give you the best picture possible on your DVD even if you do not have a 16x9 projector that can handle it, you will soon. Future proof you movies, make Anamorphic Widescreen (or more commonly labeled "Enhanced for Widescreen") a requirement for your collection. A non-anamorphic picture is like putting an Geo Metro engine in a Ferrari. The packaging looks good, but the performance is down right awful.....
